Excursion: lunar landscapes and moorish paradises
"Astonishing, the landscape and the tea place..."
"We could see the whole view from the windows of the mountains, it was incredible..."
"One of the most beautiful places I've ever been..."
Only 45 min away from Alicante by car hides the mountains of Crevillente, a place full of beautiful red clay cliffs, thousands of fig tree grooves, astonishing views down to the sea and salty ravines that pop up as lunar landscapes.
The walk will be hosted by a local young man, a nature lover and forest management student who will also discover the group the secrets of the crafts related to the most common flora in the area: the esparto grass, which has been used for centuries to make baskets, shoes, ropes and anything needed for the harsh rural live style. Through this walk we want to show you one of the most bizarre, beautiful and interesting places of the area transmitting you the stories of the place, and its flora and fauna.
Optionally, you can visit at dask one of the most beautiful, astonishing, wonderful Arab style houses and gardens in the rural area of the mountains. The place is an Alhambra alike 15th century old house with 10.000 m2 of gardens full of exotic plants and even some animals like peacocks and domestic chickens. During this visit to the core of things will invite guests to a typical mint tea pot and a traditional Arab dessert dish.
